Laura Vanhulle : Angles in Life
Angles In Life mixes live dance with film projections to create a world of optical illusion on stage. Transporting the audience to a cinematic, dream-like world, intertwining live dance with high-quality film, projected onto 3 large surfaces on stage, this production was a visual feast of image, lighting and physicality.
"At the absolute beginning Chris was involved, even before I had my Arts Council funding. To help me work efficiently, he gave me all his knowledge and experience, to bring in my show and to make it happen. He made things realistic even on a limited budget he made everything happen, in terms of projection, technology and lighting/lighting design." Laura Vanhulle
Working closely with the choreographic and filmic elements, we devised a tourable staging and lighting design that allowed direct interaction between the prerecorded and the live performance.

Dramatic Need: Children's Monologues
As something of a unique show, here's our brief in the words of Amber Sainsbury, Trustee of Dramatic Need "Save our bacon, work for peanuts (it’s a charity don’t you know!), you stay cool as cucumbers and you put on a world-class show with some of the biggest names in the business in under 8 hours and make it all look easy."
We first supported Dramatic Need in 2010, at The Old Vic with a cast that included Benedict Cumberbatch and Sir Ben Kingsley, to name but a few.
We’ve since supported a further two shows, one at the Royal Court and one at Carnegie Hall.

Pride of Birmingham
Making a venue your own for one night requires understanding the virtues of a space and the message of the event being staged there. In being approached to support Birmingham Mail’s first “Pride of Birmingham” awards ceremony at Town Hall, we had to find a balance of identity in the stories of those being recognised, in the surround of an iconic environment. Any award requires a journey, and in the context of a ceremony the story of that journey needs to be clear and the final steps are to the stage. Using this as impetuous we focused on the quality of the videos provided by Blue Monday and giving the awardees a unique piece of set to reach their award. The projection was bright clear and big and the steps accessing the stage designed to represent drawing some very special stories to a moment of recognition.
Practically we relied upon a tried and tested method of design and build to produce stage set in the overall style of the event but with a grand twist. We installed high quality AV systems to present videos at a quality befitting to the story.
