Hello and welcome, we are Chris Cuthbert and Katie Banks Co-Directors of acquismedia.

Chris founded acquismedia in December 2024 after returning to his native Birmingham from working nationally and internationally on live-streaming major events. Chris’ vision was to offer creative, digital & technical expertise to artists and cultural organisations through an agency model, offering a supportive umbrella organsiation for freelance production professionals.

Over the years we have grown to incorporate an AV Hire company and a Creative Content agency, while maintaining the Production Services our success is based on.

Katie and Chris met at midlands arts centre in 2006 when Katie was employed as Education Coordinator at sampad south asian arts.

“I was working on a particulalry challenging event, which involved a multimedia installation and performances and had reached crisis in bringing some of the pieces to fruition. My manager at the time, suggested I go and see Chris who had just taken on a cupboard in the basement as an office and was good at coming up with creative solutions for techy stuff. The rest as they say is history. Chris became my go to throughout my career at sampad, Birmingham City Council Arts Team and Town Hall/Symphony Hall. We were a force to be reckoned with, I’d have big creative ideas, was good at putting together the funding and the team but very little production or technical know how. I’d call Chris and say this is what I want to do - can you make it happen. He’d always find a way and then add extra sparkle”.
