Birmingham Royal Ballet is one of the five major ballet companies of the United Kingdom, alongside The Royal Ballet, The English National Ballet, Northern Ballet and Scottish Ballet.

Each Birmingham Royal Ballet opening week is filmed for archive and rehearsal purpose. Our initial brief was to improve the quality of the recording for the notation department which we exceeded by recommending the use of broadcast quality equipment attached to a lighting bar in the auditorium.

The results are widely agreed to be spectacular and as a result the catalogue has become a repository of high quality useful videos. In a recent capital project we built a system utilising existing apple products that enables choreographers and dancers to utilise the video database in rehearsals and remotely.

We have gone on to support other departments relying on digital media and its manipulation, supplying their desk top and mobile equipment and supporting it 24/7 through training and software support.
